M-LIFE was created in 2016 and supports various projects of M Leuven
People often asked how they could support M. M also received occasional gifts. Logically, we wanted to be transparent and tell the outside world what we were going to do with those gifts. Therefore, a fund was set up within the King Baudouin Foundation: M-LIFE
M Leuven, visual culture then and now
Proud of its roots and collection, M dares to experiment. The combination of contemporary art and old masters makes the museum unique in Flanders. Visual culture then and now, all under one roof.
In order to connect people, art and history, M strives for a healthy mix of public and private funding. Your donation helps us in various ways; to conserve our collection, to conduct scientific research into our heritage, to organize state of the art exhibitions, to support the art(ists) of tomorrow, and to enable children and adults of diverse backgrounds to discover art.
THE CONSTANT GLITCH
Since 2020, the global pandemic has left the world in a constant state of emergency. It is no secret: the cultural sector was and is under pressure. Emerging talent has less room to create. M, the City of Leuven and Cera joined forces to provide oxygen.
The City of Leuven and Cera each made €50,000 available and the crowdfunding campaign 'Art is for everyone' by M-LIFE, the museum fund of M Leuven, added more than €15,000. Thanks to this collaboration and the gifts from the 271 donors, 19 artists are supported with the purchase of 37 works. All purchases will be exhibited in 'The Constant Glitch', named after one of the selected works.
